Thanks again to anyone and everyone who submitted a post to my first ever blogathon, The Great Katharine Hepburn Blogathon! It was a great experience and I look forward to hosting another blogathon in the future. I’d like to say a special thank you to Fritzi at Movies, Silently for the great blogathon advice she gives, and to Will McKinley and Jennifer Garlen for their valuable feedback. I couldn’t have done it without you!
23 bloggers sent in articles about the great Kate. It felt like it was my birthday, reading everyone’s wonderful thoughts about my favorite actress. Today I put all the submitted blog entries into a hat and randomly drew three winners. DRUMROLL PLEASE!
1st prize goes to Huey at Gingerology for his post about the relationship between Ginger Rogers and Katharine Hepburn while filming STAGE DOOR (1937)! Congratulations, first timer!
2nd place is awarded to Meredith at L.A. La Land for her excellent contribution entitled “A DELICATE BALANCE: The Enigmatic, Androgynous Power of Katharine Hepburn.” Well done, Meredith!
3rd prize goes to the fashion-forward Kimberly at GlamAmor for her article “Style Essentials – Katharine Hepburn + Adrian Align for 1940’s THE PHILADELPHIA STORY.” Thanks so much for your contribution, Kimberly!
Prize-winners may chose one of these three books about Katharine Hepburn. I will send them on a first come/first served basis – whoever gets their shipping address to me first may have their pick. “Me: Stories of My Life” (Hardback) is Katharine Hepburn’s autobiography, though it’s really more of a memoir. I love it. “Kate Remembered” (Hardback) was one of the first biographies published after her death and is written Scott Berg, who had befriended Miss Hepburn in her later years. I love it. The LIFE Magazine Commemorative (Paperback) has a lot of really fantastic pictures and factoids about Miss Hepburn’s life and work. I love it. You can’t go wrong with any of these books. I can’t guarantee you’ll get the book you wanted, but I can guarantee you’ll enjoy whichever book you get!
